Dr. VAN H TRUONG
Dr. Van Truong has over 30 years of teaching and learning experience. For half of her distinguished career, Dr. Truong has served as building and central office administrator, retiring as Deputy Superintendent of Teaching and Learning of Portland Public Schools.
She has mentored teachers and administrators at Oregon State University and Portland State University Education program. She is a consultant for Lewis & Clark College Watzek Library, Special Collection and Archives along with other educational organizations through her consultant business.
Dr. Truong also spent her time volunteering on a couple non-profit organizations board members: Social Venture Partners of Portland and Vietnamese Dual Language HPH parent group. Dr. Truong’s dedication to education and non-profit organizations is her personal commitment to provide an excellent education to the students. She is fluent in Vietnamese, French and English.
In addition, Dr. Truong has co-founded the Oregon Vietnamese Economic, Education and Culture Association (OVEECA), a registered non-profit association, to provide leadership and support to foster and sustain cultural, linguistic, economic relationships between the Vietnamese people and Oregonians.
OVEECA will support the region’s ongoing engagement between Vietnam and Oregon and deepen trade and economic ties, and explore and support educational and cultural partnerships between Oregon and Vietnam.
